What cargo is carried by a full truck
FTL suits palletised batches for a whole truck, goods for retail chains and production, equipment and valuable cargo. For temperature-controlled goods a separate reefer is taken — this is reefer road freight, and for oversized cargo — oversized and heavy road freight.
FTL timelines
A full truck runs directly and is usually faster than a groupage run, because there is no consolidation or intermediate drop-offs. The time depends on the country, route and border load.
FTL cost
With a full truck the whole vehicle is paid for, but for a large volume the price per unit of cargo is lower than in groupage. The rate factors — country, distance, body type, fuel and delays — are covered by the cost of road delivery from Europe.
Documents and customs clearance
The cargo travels with a CMR waybill, invoice and packing list; at the border customs clearance or transit is carried out. The clearance of road cargo is handled by customs clearance of road cargo.
