During January-September 2024, the customs offices of the State Customs Service of Ukraine recorded 7,259 customs violations amounting to a total of 17 billion UAH. This represents an almost 2.5-fold increase compared to the same period in 2023, demonstrating the increased efficiency of customs authorities.

In 2,273 cases of customs violations, items involved in the offenses were temporarily seized, amounting to 430 million UAH. Specifically:

  • industrial goods worth 304 million UAH;
  • vehicles worth over 68 million UAH;
  • foodstuffs worth over 52 million UAH;
  • currency amounting to 6 million UAH.

In addition, in 2,161 cases initiated in the current or previous periods, administrative penalties in the form of fines were imposed, totaling 58.6 million UAH. Of this, 57.9 million UAH has already been collected into the State Budget of Ukraine.

Customs authorities submitted 3,969 cases of customs violations totaling nearly 16.6 billion UAH for court review. As a result, including cases from previous periods, courts imposed penalties totaling 1.9 billion UAH, including the confiscation of goods and fines.

Thus, in the first nine months of 2024, customs authorities significantly improved the detection of offenses and the collection of administrative penalties, indicating a positive trend in their work.
