Recently, an incident occurred off the coast of Turkey involving the cargo ship Pallada, which broke apart due to a powerful storm. The vessel had departed from Odessa and encountered strong waves and gusty winds, leading to its destruction.
There were 13 crew members on board, all of whom were successfully evacuated by rescuers. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, which is a fortunate outcome in such an incident.
The shipwreck caused serious consequences for the port and surrounding infrastructure. Debris is damaging concrete structures, which may require lengthy recovery efforts. Furthermore, the storm affected local airports, resulting in the cancellation of over 150 flights.
As a result of the severe weather, schools in the Zonguldak province were also closed, and local authorities urged residents to be cautious and follow safety measures due to the adverse weather conditions.
